Pineapple Works has confirmed a release date for their emotional action-adventure RPG Dreamed Away, which is coming to Nintendo Switch.
From French developer Nicolas Petton, the game’s story centres “on the often fluctuating bond between siblings, fear of death and the experience of questioning reality.”
Heavily inspired by games such as EarthBound and Omori, this pixel art RPG stars a little boy called Théo who becomes lost in a dark and mysterious world that seems like a dream. On a rainy summer night, he wakes up in his bedroom to realise that his parents and sister Louise have disappeared.
As he searches for his sister, the true nature of the world lays itself bare. Ghosts, Phantoms and Revenants haunt the catacombs and dark places that he wanders – where he is always a step behind and never able to catch up.
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- Immersive storytelling that takes you on a journey to solve Théo’s dark and unsettling mystery.
- Diverse setting: varied colours and environments that bring you from a vibrant, peaceful atmosphere to those dark and mysterious places.
- Detailed and aesthetic pixel art setting that is worth exploring.
- An original soundtrack by Nicolas Petton.
- Unique skill-based combat system.
Dreamed Away will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 23 October 2025.
