After unexpectedly creating multiple memes over the years, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has reflected on the popularity that he has built with the company’s fans.

Whether kicking ass and taking names or making sure that his body was ready to play Wii Fit, Fils-Aime continues to enjoy the role that he plays at Nintendo.

“I was a fan and a player before I was an executive with the company. I grew up playing the Super Nintendo. My favourite game is The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past. And for me, it was serendipity,” Fils-Aime explained to CBC News.

“I’m fortunate that some very creative things come out of my mouth, and then the fan base just takes it and runs with it.
