DevilishGames has announced that their paper-crafted city-builder Cutout Village is in development for Nintendo Switch.

After inheriting an old family home in a village that now lies abandoned, you will work to restore the place where you spent your childhood.

Taking inspiration from watercolour art and classic pastimes like the paper crafts and cut-out books that became popular in the 1960s, the game’s mechanics are “simple and unique” in tasking you with cutting, folding and glueing the sheets that you collect to unlock new service levels and expand the population.

Beyond the game’s Story Mode, you can build your own village with no limits in Free Mode, with “over 50 different buildings, pieces of street furniture, and trees to choose from.”

Cutout Village will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in Q3 2026.
