Nintendo has announced that Dragon Quest Builders will see release on Nintendo Switch in February.

The sandbox action RPG challenges you to rebuild Alefgard after it was plunged into darkness, as a hero chosen by the GOddess and granted the power of creation.

When a hero that was fated to slay the treacherous Dragonlord was instead tricked into joining him, mankind was scattered and robbed of the power to build – leaving the realm’s people wandering the ruins of their former home, scrounging and scavenging to survive.

The Nintendo Switch version will come with an exclusive Great Sabrecub to ride around on in Free Build mode, that will boost the player’s speed and grant them special materials after defeating enemies.

Back when the plucky portable home console was still known as Nintendo NX, Square Enix had stated that they were considering releasing Dragon Quest Builders on the platform, and are “committed to bringing more Dragon Quest titles in the West,” and Dragon Quest Builders 2 has already been confirmed for the platform.

Dragon Quest Builders will release on Nintendo Switch in Europe and North America on 9th February 2018.
