Rayman Legends sells more on Wii U than competitor consoles

Whilst Ubisoft chose to delay Rayman Legends so that it could launch as a multi-platform title, it is Wii U owners that have contributed most to the game’s initial success.

First week sales across the United Kingdom saw the Wii U version accounting for 45 percent of copies purchased, outshadowing that achieved by the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Total opening sales being 20 percent higher than those made by Rayman Origins.

The third-party publisher had delayed the game a month before it had been due to release on Wii U, angering fans further with news that it was no longer a console exclusive.

In response to the outcry, Wii U players were treated to the free Rayman Legends Challenge App to tide them over for the six month wait.
