Ubisoft has revealed that Rayman Legends Retold is in development for Nintendo Switch 2, which reimagines its classic platformer Rayman Legends.
Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan have led the project, which “builds on the charm of the original 2013 game, now brought to life with stunning 3D visuals, a brand-new story and fully voiced cinematics.”
When a shadowy villain spreads chaos across the realms, you must join Rayman, Globox, Barbara, Grand Minimus, and Murphy on a new adventure to restore peace to the Glade of Dreams.
Whether solo or with up to four players in local co-op, you must leap, glide, and punch your way through “a never-before-seen sixth realm, epic boss battles and worlds filled with hidden Teensies to rescue.”
You will dive into a “rich selection of returning levels, take flight on thrilling dragon rides, test their skills in the Cave of Trials, and jam through four all-new musical stages,” with the team reimagining the Glade of Dreams with new character encounters and surprises.
The game’s expanded soundtrack retains its fan-favourite original themes with new additions from composers Christophe Héral and Grant Kirkhope.
“Rayman Legends Retold is our way of revisiting what makes Rayman so special, and re‑telling that experience for a new generation of players,” explains brand producer Loïc Gounon. “We wanted to preserve everything fans love, and Legends gave us the perfect foundation to expand Rayman’s lore, its world logic, and how everything connects together.”
The digital Standard Edition and Deluxe Edition will come with Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition, which now has 4K resolution, 60 frames per second, new collectibles and rewards, and modern enhancements like haptic feedback for compatible controllers and new quality-of-life features.
It will also be included in the physical Launch Edition, which will also offer a Glade of Dreams Printed Map, a set of 3 Lithographs, and a Slipcase.
Those who pre-order any edition of the game will receive the Hoodlum Havoc Pack, which includes two costumes for Rayman and Globlox inspired by Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc.
Rayman Legends Retold will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 1 October 2026.
