As part of their on-going distribution deal with Namco Bandai for Solatorobo: Red the Hunter, Nintendo have today released new information regarding the Nintendo DS exclusive RPG title.

Players will find themselves entering a world of epic fantasy action accompanied by beautiful graphics that have been specifically created by internationally renowned designers, Nobuteru Yuki, and then animated by MADHOUSE.

The storyline will see you take on the role of Red Savarin, a 17-year old anthropomorphic dog, and his robot, Dahak, as he battles giant robotic “mecha” as well as other enemies on his journey through the mythical floating islands of the Shepherd Republic. Following a chance encounter with the mysterious Elh, he finds himself inadvertently entangled in an epic adventure to save the world from destruction at the claws of the ancient evil being, Lares.

You’ll therefore find yourself navigating the intriguing lands and taking part in a series of different quests ranging from fighting robots and sky pirates, racing planes and defeating gigantic monsters – all whilst exploring the sky on your own airship in your continual quest to save the world.

New information surrounds Solatorobo’s various gameplay modes, incorporating “Quests”, where completing quests will earn you money and the ability to increase your Hunter Level, whereas “Battling” will see you required to lift and smash robotic opponents in order to gain experience points that allow you to further extend the amount of life that Red has.

It has also been revealed that the game is due to unfold in two parts, with each consisting of a number of chapters in which you must fight to keep the earth in this island-like state to prevent mass extinction and the end of the world as we know it!

Solatorobo: Red the Hunter is due to release across Europe for Nintendo DS on July 1st.
