After 19 years of service, which included over 12 years acting as its general counsel, Nintendo of America’s senior vice president Richard Flamm will retire in the spring.

Having been initially hired to lead Nintendo’s Litigation team, Richard soon managed the Anti-Piracy team before being promoted to general counsel in 1999.

From here, he then grew Nintendo’s Legal department into a modern, dynamic and robust team. His tenure began in the days of the iconic Game Boy and the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and has carried him through the Nintendo DS, Wii and Nintendo 3DS eras.

“We sincerely appreciate and want to recognize all Rick has accomplished, not only for Nintendo of America, but also for Nintendo globally,” said Nintendo of America Chairman Tatsumi Kimishima. “His passion for the business and the outstanding efforts and results of his team are unparalleled.”
