Image & Form and Zoink have announced that they have joined forces to form Thunderful, a new company that will allow the developers to share resources and work on more ambitious projects.

While the two developers have long collaborated with one another, they will continue to develop games with existing and new IPs under their own respective labels.

Image & Form will be a name known to those that have played as steam-driven robots in SteamWorld Dig, SteamWorld Heist, or SteamWorld Dig 2 – a series that has seen enormous success on Nintendo Switch, Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS. While Zoink has released Stick It To The Man!, is working on Flipping Death, and will soon invite players to explore a dark Nordic forest in Fe on Nintendo Switch next month.

“We already work together on a daily basis in PR, marketing, intelligence and publishing,” explains Brjann Sigurgeirsson, Image & Form CEO and Thunderful CEO.

“Image & Form and Zoink will continue to produce games like we always do, but we’re now formalising our close relationship. Through Thunderful we can share resources more effectively, officially act together and launch bigger, more ambitious game projects. We’re becoming a real powerhouse.”

Klaus Lyngeled, Zoink CEO and Thunderful CCO, adds: “Brjann and I already exchange very much information, so this development is natural. With a group of close to 50 people, we’ll grow our clout both nationally and internationally.”

Thunderful is a limited liability company that will wholly own Image & Form and Zoink, and, in turn, it is owned by Bergsala Holding, Brjann Sigurgeirsson and Klaus Lyngeled.
