Goblinz Publishing and One Up Plus Entertainment have confirmed that Defend The Rook will release on Nintendo Switch this month.
You will have the chance to play as a powerful Magister in this roguelike tactical tower defence game, hired by his queen to defend the kingdom from a demon lord.
In turn-based battles set in vast mountains, snow-peaked forests and sand-swept deserts, you will deploy legendary heroes such as the Warrior, Rogue and Sorceress and many contraptions in an effort to defeat hordes of goblins, elves, orcs and other mythical creatures.
Your ultimate goal is to protect the Rook – the kingdom’s life essence- and the magical crystals that power the land. Each legendary hero will need to be placed strategically on each battlefield, and you can choose from in-battle spell combos to help turn each confrontation in your favour.
“Defend The Rook is a tale of power and intrigue as much as it’s a tactical tower defense game,” explains Goblinz Publishing founder and manager Johann Verbroucht. “With dozens of unlockable upgrades and spells, and procedurally generated fights ensuring no playthrough is the same, players are kept on the edge of their seats every time.”
Defend The Rook will release digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 14th April 2022.
