Professor Layton series surpasses worldwide shipment figure of 11 million

Level-5 have announced that their enormously successful Professor Layton series has surpassed a worldwide shipment figure of over 11 million units.

More specifically, the publisher confirmed that the series has shipped 11.47 million units which, for those interested, is spread across the first four Professor Layton games on the Nintendo DS – the fourth of which is yet to release in either North America or Europe.

Remember also that such a figure doesn’t include Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, which is due to be released as a Japanese launch title for the Nintendo 3DS.

In commemorating the game’s release, Level-5 are also due to host a completion ceremony that they plan to hold in the form of a live webcast. This is due to be held between 19:00 to 21:00 on February 24th, presumably Japanese local time, and will feature discussions with Level-5 CEO and President Akihiro Hino, the Japanese voice cast and serve as an introduction to the Professor’s latest outing.
