Professor Layton series may make its way to Wii U

An article within the latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has revealed comments made by LEVEL-5 CEO Akihiro Hino, in which he suggests that the Professor Layton series may translate well onto Nintendo’s forthcoming Wii U.

Hino explained that due to the additional screen on the controller, the stylus-based input of LEVEL-5’s titles such as the Professor Layton series would now be able to played on the console. Such a capability means that the studio is now considering ports of existing software, meaning the deductive Professor may very well be headed to the platfom.

Hino also discussed his thoughts that the system could expand the type of games able to be enjoyed within the living room, and said he would like to think about ideas to fulfil such potential in future.
