Akihiro Hino, CEO of Level-5, has revealed today by the growingly popular social media site Twitter that Professor Layton and the Curious Village has topped the one million sales mark in Japan.
It took four years and two months for the first entry within the Professor Layton series to achieve the figure in Japan, which now consists of five titles in the region. The most recent entry, for Nintendo 3DS, is the system’s top-selling game within Japan having sold around 250,000 units.
Hino also confirmed that the total worldwide shipment figure for the series has topped 11 million, and discussed that Level-5 is working on the sixth entry in the series which we can presume will be for the Nintendo 3DS.
Now we just need the fourth and fifth instalments to release in the west…
