eastasiasoft and Panda Indie Studio have announced that Pity Pit will release on Nintendo Switch this week.

This procedural 2D vertical platformer will challenge you to mine with pickaxes, dig with shovels or use explosive bombs to make your way downward in an experience that the developer has likened to “Dig Dug meets Downwell.”

You play as Oratio, a dwarf who had enjoyed hanging around in the mines with his wife Gwendoline until a demon spawned from a nearby pit and kidnapped her. Now you must race through the mines to rescue her from the Devil Johnson.

There are five different levels of challenge and obstacles that will change with each playthrough, with the game offering “simple but addictive design and a wealth of replay value.”

Pity Pit will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 11th June 2020 priced at £4.99 ($4.99).
