Nintendo UK’s consumer brief became open to pitches earlier this year, with confirmation coming this week that it has since been won by PrettyGreen.

The independent brand communications agency will take charge of integrated campaign support and the company’s press office, their first project being for next month’s Wii U exclusive Splatoon. Meanwhile, Fishburn’s consumer arm, 77PR, will continue to work with Nintendo of Europe.

PrettyGreen will draw on experience gained working with EA Games and EA Maxis since 2012, with other clients including John Lewis, Red Bull and Virgin Media.

“We’re excited to be welcoming the PrettyGreen team into the Nintendo family,” comments Jo Bartlett, Nintendo UK’s head of communications. “They’ve shown themselves to be creative and strategic in their thinking and we’re looking forward to working with them to deliver some fantastic campaigns for both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS in the months to come.”

PrettyGreen’s founder Mark Stringer adds: “As an Agency we have a reputation for helping brands define and redefine creative culture and Nintendo is one of the most iconic brands out there; few can lay claim to having played such a consistent role in providing worldwide family entertainment for so long! It’s great to be embarking on a new journey with the Nintendo Team at such an exciting time for the brand.”
