While the 2014 FIFA World Cup final rages in Brazil this Sunday, the Barbican Centre will itself alight with a musical tour de force from the London Symphony Orchestra and London Symphony Chorus.

Building upon last year’s Final Symphony, which drew upon Final Fantasy’s rich musical tapestry, Symphonic Legends London sees Finnish composers Jonne Valtonen and Roger Wanamo turn their attention to arrangements of melodies that have long populated Nintendo’s iconic The Legend of Zelda series.

That will specifically draw inspiration from the likes of A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess, while an overture of music from Skyward Sword will receive its world premiere.

In discussing their approach to tackling such beloved musical themes, Valtonen and Wanamo will treat ticket holders to a free pre-concert talk which will take place between 6 – 6.45pm in the concert hall stalls.

Tickets themselves have sold out for the concert, which takes place this Sunday 13th July, although you may have some luck either through eBay or StubHub if anyone can no longer make it.
