The Pokémon Company International has filed a new trademark in Europe for Pokkén Tournament, suggesting that news surrounding the arcade brawler’s western advance will soon be revealed.
Echoing the trademark previously filed in May 2014, this covers much of the same ground including computer game software, near field communication (NFC) technology-enabled devices, key fobs, films and television programs, tournaments and board games.
The only immediately noticeable difference is that they have now submitted the game’s official logo, understandable given that this submission comes after Pokkén Tournament’s formal announcement.
Speculation points toward news potentially being shared at the 2015 Pokémon World Championships, which will be held in Boston thsi weekend between Friday 21st – Sunday 23rd August.
