The Pokémon Company International has announced that Pokkén Tournament will be treated to a worldwide launch, slamming into retailers in Europe, North America and Japan on March 18th.

The Pokémon brawler brings over-the-top action to Wii U, seeing PokéDex favourites battle it out in numerous fighting arenas. Those that buy the first production run version can receive a special Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card, that can be scanned with the Wii U GamePad to unlock the Psychic-type Legendary as a playable character.

The news comes at the end of a week in which the company has outlined plans to mark 20 years since the first Pokémon games launched in Japan. Those plans include new 2DS hardware bundles, movie re-releases, Pokémon TCG: Generations expansion, monthly Mythical Pokémon distributions, and a free Pokémon Photo Booth app.
