This week’s Pokénchi episode has now broadcast, which saw the Japanese variety show share no new Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon gameplay footage.

While the hosts were joined by Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda, Shigeru Ohmori and Shigeki Morimoto, their appearance was simply to accompany the first televised showing of the reveal trailer seen in February’s Pokémon Direct.

However, they were encouraged to share new details, asked as to how many Pokémon we can expect and if there would be any new Mega Evolutions – Mega Weavile being one of their requests. Masuda’s only tease was in jokingly responding that there would be more than 10 new Pokémon in the game.

Heralded as “the next era of Pokémon games,” we will now have to wait to see what this month’s CoroCoro Comic will contain.

Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will release exclusively for Nintendo 3DS later this year.
