Following the arrival of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, the Pokémon Trading Card Game will join in the excitement through a newly delivered expansion.
November 8th will see the release of the Pokémon TCG: XY – Kalos Starter Set, delivering three 60-card decks featuring new starter Pokémon Chespin, Fennekin, or Froakie. These will also include other new Pokémon from the Kalos region, with a deluxe version offering an additional Pokémon TCG: Black & White Series booster pack.
More importantly, the XY—Kalos Starter Set introduces Fairy-type Pokémon and Basic Fairy Energy. This is the eleventh Pokémon type, and the first new addition since the Dragon-type was added back in 2012. In order to attack with Fairy-type Pokémon, players will need to use Basic Fairy Energy, which is the ninth Energy type in the Pokémon TCG.
That isn’t all, either. From February 5th 2014, the Pokémon TCG: XY expansion will receive 10-card booster packs allowing players to expand their collection with powerful new Pokémon, Trainer cards, and more. These will also include a code card that unlocks virtual cards for the Pokémon TCG Online.
