As hype has continued to build behind Pokémon X & Y’s worldwide launch next week, the Nintendo 3DS exclusives have broken records to become the most pre-ordered games for the handheld across Japan.

That figure has now surpassed 1.26 million pre-orders across the country, with Europe and North America surely seeing similar demand.

Nintendo, The Pokémon Company and Game Freak will surely be pleased by the guaranteed success for the next evolution in the 17-year old franchise. A steady newsblast over the past few weeks has garnered even further interest, culminating in a Pokémon Direct and today’s news regarding Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y.

  1. Let’s just hope the game lives up to the hype it has built. 3d will definitely make it interesting but i hope they have cooked up a good story line that will make it a 10/10. Lord N’s character was surely interesting for the black/white set and it teased at a deeper storyline but i wouldn’t expect too much except for great battles.
