Nintendo’s live-action launch trailer for Pokémon X and Pokémon Y is a remarkable call to arms.

“It’s time for adventure, for meeting new friends,” the trailer’s voiceover bellows. “Time for teamwork. Time for battle. For true champions with unique powers.”

Which is all certainly stirring stuff, the appearance of classic and new starter Pokémon clearly targeting seasoned players as well as perhaps those yet to discover the joys of the series.

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y are now available worldwide for Nintendo 3DS.
