The Pokémon Company has announced Pokémon: Wild Card, an all-new animated film featuring a Pokémon TCG player and Mimikyu, the Disguise Pokémon.
Led by director Katsuhiko Kitada and character designer Akemi Hayashi, STORY inc. is the producer and CloverWorks is behind the animation’s production.
“For the first time in seven years, a new Pokémon movie is on its way,” explains The Pokémon Company CEO and president Tsunekazu Ishihara. “The protagonist of this new story is a Pokémon TCG who’s battling and striving to become a Champion, like many of you here today.
“This film aims to showcase the competitive spirit for battle shared by Trainers around the world. We’re hard at work on production, and we’re really looking forward to bringing it to audiences everywhere soon.”
