The Pokémon Company has released the first teaser trailer for Pokémon the Movie 2018, which was shown this morning on Japanese children’s programme, Oha Suta.

The teaser trailer is initially seen from the perspective of a Pokémon swimming underwater, that, leaping above the waves, soon sees a gust of wind race towards Ash and Pikachu who are stood on a cliff edge. The wind knocks Ash’s cap from his head, and, after a cut, is seen at the feet of a young girl.

Then we see a different girl holding a Poké Ball to the skies who seems confused, before she seemingly remembers something as the trailer comes to a close.

We can see that Pokémon the Movie 2018 has a different art style to that used for Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You, with production company OLM once again remaining involved with the project.

Pokémon the Movie 2018 will release at cinemas across Japan on 13th July 2018.
