Having excited Pokéfans in the run up to Pokémon X and Pokémon Y’s global launch, it has now been announced that the Pokémon Trading Card Game: XY will also be treated to the introduction of striking Mega Evolutions.
The expansion will debut with 10-card booster packs which are hitting retailers across North America on 5th February 2014.
Also set to introduce the new Fairy-type Pokémon, Mega Evolutions will be available to the powerful Pokémon-EX – such as Venusaur-EX or Blastoise-EX – although will immediately end their turn meaning that they can’t attack.
Whilst a risk, Mega Evolution Pokémon are far stronger than even their Pokémon-EX counterparts with higher HP totals and greater attacks.
The Pokémon TCG: XY expansion booster packs will launch across North America on 5th February 2014, each including a code card that unlocks virtual cards for the Pokémon TCG Online.
