The Pokémon Company International has announced that the new Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield – Fusion Strike expansion will release at retailers next month.

This will introduce a new type of Battle Styles gameplay mechanic – Fusion Strike Style – which can be seen on cards that are decorated with “a hint of purple and pink.”

Such Pokémon with the Fusion Strike Style often have attacks that focus on teamwork and reinforce the idea of strength in numbers – benefitting most when other Pokémon with this Battle Style are in play.

There are also Trainer and Special Energy cards on which Fusion Strike Style will appear, which tend to assist Pokémon of that particular Battle Style and allow you to build a Fusion Strike Style deck.

The expansion will include 25 Fusion Strike cards, 20 Pokémon V, 13 full-art Pokémon V, eight Pokémon VMAX, 20 Trainer cards, seven full-art Supporter cards and one Special Energy card.

If you are interested in experiencing the expansion before launch, you can get a Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield – Fusion Strike Build & Battle Box from your local participating retailer starting from Saturday 30th October 2021.

These boxes contain four booster packs, a 23-card Evolution pack featuring key cards from current and prior sets (with one of four alternate-art promo cards) and a deck-building tip sheet.

The Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield – Fusion Strike expansion will release worldwide on 12th November 2021.
