The Pokémon Company International has confirmed a release date for the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG): Scarlet and Violet – Black Bolt and Scarlet and Violet – White Flare split expansion.
You will be able to collect cards that feature the 156 Pokémon originally discovered in the Unova region, each appearing as an illustration rare or special illustration rare style card between both Scarlet and Violet – Black Bolt and Scarlet and Violet – White Flare products.
The Legendary Pokémon Zekrom will be featured for Scarlet and Violet – Black Bolt, with Scarlet and Violet – White Fare featuring the Legendary Pokémon Reshiram. Each expansion will include three different parallel foil sets, two of which will feature either a rainbow Poké Ball or Master Ball pattern shimmering across the card.
There will also be new cards with features last seen in the Black and White Series, including those with a nostalgic foil pattern and Basic Energy cards featuring the original Black and White Series designs.
Scarlet and Violet – Black Bolt and Scarlet and Violet – White Flare will each include different variations of the six Pokémon ex, eight ultra rare Pokémon and Supporter cards, one illustration rare or special illustration rare card for each Unova Pokémon, and one special illustration rare Supporter card.
The split expansion also introduces the highly styled Black White rare cards, which feature card illustrations in a monochromatic black or white design.
You can collect cards from Scarlet and Violet – Black Bolt and Scarlet and Violet – White Flare in the following products:
- Scarlet and Violet – Black Bolt or Scarlet and Violet – White Flare Elite Trainer Box (available 18 July 2025): Includes nine Scarlet and Violet – Black Bolt or Scarlet and Violet – White Flare booster packs, respectively; one illustration rare style promo card featuring Thundurus or Tornadus, respectively; and various gameplay accessories.
- Scarlet and Violet – Black Bolt or Scarlet and Violet – White Flare Binder Collection (available 18 July 2025): Includes five Scarlet and Violet – Black Bolt or Scarlet & Violet—White Flare booster packs, respectively; and one nine-pocket album featuring Zekrom or Reshiram, respectively, to organize and store Pokémon TCG cards.
- Unova Poster Collection (available 18 July 2025): Includes two Scarlet and Violet – Black Bolt booster packs; two Scarlet and Violet – White Flare booster packs; three promo cards featuring Snivy, Tepig and Oshawott; and one full-size, two-sided poster.
- Unova Mini Tin (available 18 July 2025): Includes one Scarlet and Violet – Black Bolt booster pack; one Scarlet and Violet – White Flare booster pack; one art card and one sticker card matching the tin’s art.
- Scarlet and Violet – Black Bolt or Scarlet and Violet – White Flare Tech Sticker Collection (available 1 August 2025): Includes three Scarlet and Violet – Black Bolt or Scarlet and Violet – White Flare booster packs, respectively; one illustration rare style promo card featuring Reuniclus or Gothitelle, respectively; and one sticker sheet for personalising laptops, tablets and other tech devices.
- Unova Victini Illustration Collection (available 1 August 2025): Includes two Scarlet and Violet – Black Bolt booster packs; two Scarlet and Violet – White Flare booster packs; one illustration rare style promo card featuring Victini; one premium parallel Poké Ball card featuring Victini; and one oversize illustration rare style foil promo card featuring Victini.
- Scarlet and Violet – Black Bolt or Scarlet and Violet – White Flare Booster Bundle (available 22 August 2025): Includes six Scarlet and Violet – Black Bolt or Scarlet and Violet – White Flare booster packs, respectively.
You will also be able to play with Scarlet and Violet – Black Bolt and Scarlet and Violet – White Flare digitally via the Pokémon TCG Live app for iOS, Android, macOS and Windows devices starting 17 July 2025. Players can collect and battle with new Trainer’s Pokémon cards and receive in-game bonuses when logging in to the app.
The Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG): Scarlet and Violet – Black Bolt and Scarlet and Violet – White Flare split expansion will be released at participating retailers worldwide on 18 July 2025.
