Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield were revealed to the world this week, and, in the brief Pokémon Direct presentation, we learned that Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble are the three starter Pokémon that we can choose between.
As you would expect, fan art of these new companions has started to flood online. But, it is a comparison that Twitter user 3rami98 has made which has started to spread like wildfire. In three quick drawings, they have made an unlikely comparison that the three starter Pokémon look like The Powerpuff Girls.
They believe that Bubbles looks like the Water Lizard Pokémon, Sobble, that Blossom has similarities to Scorbunny, the Rabbit Pokémon, and that Buttercup has some likenesses to the Chimp Pokémon, Grookey.
It appears that the Pokémon community on Twitter agrees, with the comparison having reached 20,674 retweets and 50,672 likes at the time of writing.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide in late 2019.
