After becoming “the best pre-selling games in Nintendo history,” Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon seemed destined to smash sales records when they launched worldwide. And, so they have.

Nintendo of Europe has shared that first week sales of the Nintendo 3DS exclusives have surpassed 1.5 million copies, with over 368,000 copies sold in the United Kingdom alone.

Meanwhile, Nintendo of America has added that the games have “become the fastest-selling games that Nintendo has ever launched in the Americas.” Under two weeks since launch, Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon have sold 3.7 million copies in the region.

That is an 85 percent increase in comparison to Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, which had been the previous record holders for Nintendo’s fastest-selling games in the same time period following their 2013 launch.

As of May 2016, Pokémon-related games have sold more than 280 million copies worldwide. Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will only help to edge that number ever closer to the lofty 300 million mark.
