Pokémon Sleep Reawakens In Summer 2023

The Pokémon Company has confirmed a release window for Pokémon Sleep, reintroducing the game after it was first revealed in May 2019.

This experience will aim to “offer a fun and enriching experience to Trainers by having a player’s time spent sleeping – and the time they wake up – affect the gameplay.”

You will join Professor Neroli and Snorlax on a small island, helping them carry out research into how Pokémon sleep. That presents the chance for you to turn your sleep into entertainment – simply placing your smartphone by your pillow and then falling asleep. Your sleep will be recorded and measured, and, the longer you sleep, the higher your score will be in the morning and the more Pokémon you will see appear around Snorlax.

Your nights of sleep will be classified as one of three sleep styles – dozing, snoozing, or slumbering – and in the morning, Pokémon that sleep in a similar way will gather around Snorlax. In looking to complete your sleep style dex, you may even discover a Pokémon sleeping in a rare style you’d hardly ever get to see normally.

To make your research easier, you can use the Pokémon GO Plus + which lets you keep track of your sleep “with the press of a button.” To release on 21st July 2023, the accessory uses Bluetooth Low Energy technology to link with Pokémon Sleep on your smartphone. It can also be used with Pokémon GO, letting you throw Poké Balls automatically.

Pokémon Sleep will release on the App Store for iOS devices and Google Play for Android devices worldwide, excluding certain regions, in Summer 2023.
