Pokémon Shuffle now available in Europe and North America

A welcome surprise outside of this week’s Nintendo Download, Pokémon Shuffle has launched today through the Nintendo eShop in Europe, Australia, North America and Japan.

The free-to-play 3DS exclusive tasks players with matching three or more Pokémon in a line to attack and progress through the game’s stages. To do so you must reduce the wild Pokémon’s HP to zero within the number of moves available, with those taking type into consideration achieving their goal more easily.

While all content is made available at no cost, players are provided with five Hearts and must use one for each stage that they play. You will have to wait for these to be replenished before continuing, although microtransactions will let you purchase Jewels – in-game currency that can be used to buy extra Coins, the chance to continue a match even after you’ve used all turns, and more Hearts. These Jewels are priced at £0.89 each.

StreetPass also sees support in letting you share play records and receive bonus Jewels, whereas free special stages will be regularly added throughout the year ahead.
