With next year to mark Pokémon’s 20th Anniversary, this week’s Nintendo Direct brought news that Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue and Pokémon Yellow will see release on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console service.

Allowing everyone to return to where the addiction for catching every Pokémon began, the ports have been reworked so that players can battle and trade using the Nintendo 3DS wireless communication – replacing functionality that was previously reliant on the Game Boy link cable.

Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue and Pokémon Yellow will release on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console service in Europe and North America on 27th February 2016.
