It’s time for The Cat Mario Show to step aside, as the Pokémon Puppet Theatre will be the best thing you see this year. The only trouble is, it’s in Japanese.

With the world swept up in the excitement that has surrounded Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, the Pokémon Puppet Theatre looks to help newcomers understand key mechanics in the Nintendo 3DS exclusive.

The first episode in this wondrous creation stars Marshtomp and Pancham, who, stood beneath a tree, are discussing Evolution. This sees Marshtomp recall when it evolved from Mudkip, but his otherwise fond memories are disturbed when the two Pokémon start fighting.

In his efforts to encourage Pancham to evolve, the Fighting-type Pokémon reveals that he is carrying a かわらずのいし – or Everstone – the peculiar stone preventing it from evolving.

Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon are available exclusively for Nintendo 3DS in North America, Australia and New Zealand, and release in Europe on November 23rd.
