After Pokémon Uranium was pulled by the project’s creators, another eight-year effort is nearing release in Pokémon Prism.

Developed by Nsomniart and TPP Devs, developers, artists, musicians and designers have worked hard to create this Pokémon Gold ROM hack that takes place in the Naljo region and acts as a sequel to Pokémon Brown.

This traces Prism’s story, who is the son (or daughter) of Elite Four champion Lance. After playing in their uncle’s mine cart they lose control and unexpectedly end up in the Naljo region.

It is larger than the Johto region and inhabited by 252 Pokémon that span four generations. The hack introduces new Pokémon types in Wood, Gas, Wind, Abnormal, and Sound, with three new moves, several new items, and a new TM and HM set. A Gold Token system will reward those that collect all 80, while there are crafting skills, side-scrolling areas, minigames, and specific places where you will play as a Pokémon.

Pokémon Prism will be broadcast on Monday 9th October at 6pm UTC on Twitch Plays Pokémon, before it is made available to download in December.
