Nintendo has announced that Pokémon Pokopia has sold more than four million copies since the game was released for Nintendo Switch 2.

“Pokémon Pokopia, released for Nintendo Switch 2 on March 5, 2026, had global
cumulative sell-through exceeding 4 million units in the first five weeks,” Nintendo explained in its financial results explanatory material.

“Pokémon Pokopia is being picked up by a broad range of players regardless of
gender, and many are using the features, such as GameShare, that are exclusive to
Nintendo Switch 2.

“By continuing to release these kinds of compelling titles for Nintendo Switch 2, we
aim to convey the appeal of the platform to our consumers who play on Nintendo
Switch.”

From co-developers Game Freak and Koei Tecmo Games, Pokémon Pokopia stars a Ditto that takes on a human appearance and builds a new life with other Pokémon.

As Ditto, players can explore and learn moves from the Pokémon they befriend – such as Bulbasaur’s Leafage to grow greenery, or Squirtle’s Water Gun to revive dried-up plants – expanding their capabilities and helping them create an inviting environment to attract a variety of Pokémon.

Players can collect materials, build furniture, grow vegetables, and create homes for Pokémon, allowing them to experience a cosy, slow life with Pokémon – one that they build themselves from the ground up. Over time, players can develop a town of their own and invite other players or Pokémon to visit. Pokémon Pokopia also features a day-night cycle linked to real-world time, changing weather, and in-game locations with their own unique characteristics.

Pokémon Pokopia is now available at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide.
