The Pokémon Company International has revealed plans for a Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass on Nintendo Switch 2, news that was shared in today’s Nintendo Direct presentation.
This three-part paid downloadable content for the game will present you with the chance to expand your town-building adventures with three content add-ons, all of which are playable using your existing Pokémon Pokopia save data.
In August 2026, Part 1 will welcome you to Bubbly Basin, “an underwater town where players can encounter Pokémon living beneath the sea, discover ocean floor-themed furniture and find new outfits for Ditto.”
Part 2 will introduce “additional new features” and is scheduled for late 2026, with Part 3 planned for 2027, which will add another new town.
Those who purchase the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass can receive a recipe for dynamic Ditto print blocks and wallpaper, which is redeemable for use in-game upon purchase.
If you purchase the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass before Tuesday 31 August 2027, you will receive a code for 30 rare Pokémetal ingots. This code will be sent to the email address registered to your Nintendo Account and can be redeemed via Mystery Gifts.
From co-developers Game Freak and Koei Tecmo Games, Pokémon Pokopia stars a Ditto that takes on a human appearance and builds a new life with other Pokémon.
As Ditto, players can explore and learn moves from the Pokémon they befriend – such as Bulbasaur’s Leafage to grow greenery, or Squirtle’s Water Gun to revive dried-up plants – expanding their capabilities and helping them create an inviting environment to attract a variety of Pokémon.
Players can collect materials, build furniture, grow vegetables, and create homes for Pokémon, allowing them to experience a cosy, slow life with Pokémon – one that they build themselves from the ground up. Over time, players can develop a town of their own and invite other players or Pokémon to visit. Pokémon Pokopia also features a day-night cycle linked to real-world time, changing weather, and in-game locations with their own unique characteristics.
Pokémon Pokopia is now available at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide.
