Rumour: Pokémon Let’s GO! Pikachu Logo Leaks Online

Pokémon Let's GO! Pikachu Edition Logo

It would appear that Pokémon Let’s GO! Pikachu and Pokémon Let’s GO! Eevee are the titles for the “core RPG Pokémon title” that is in development for Nintendo Switch.

The logo for Pokémon Let’s GO! Pikachu has surfaced on 4chan, and, while we cannot confirm whether the title or logo is accurate or not, was accompanied with the claim that it will release alongside Pokémon Let’s GO! Eevee in Fall 2018.

The same anonymous user had previously shared that these games are Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition remakes for the portable home console that will not only see Red and Blue make a return but, as fans have requested, will let your Pokémon follow you around.

PokéRides continue to replace Hidden Machines (HMs), and in a move that’s similar to Festival Plaza, there is an online hub area where you can interact with other players. And, as you will have probably guessed from the game’s supposedly leaked title, it will have some integration with Pokémon GO.

Well-known industry insider Emily Rogers had hinted her expectation that news on the games would be shared soon, which is something that she had expanded on in a blog post earlier today.

In it, she speculated about what impact the success of Pokémon GO would have on the game’s direction and closed with: “As we wait for an announcement on the upcoming Pokémon title, which will be revealed before the end of this month, think about what Pokémon GO might mean for the future of the Pokémon series. I suspect that the naming/branding for this year’s Pokémon Switch title (there’s two versions) might raise a few eyebrows.”

For those that don’t remember, and as a quick recap, last year a Pokémon Direct was broadcast one week before E3 2017, in which The Pokémon Company and Nintendo revealed Pokkén Tournament DX, Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon, and that Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver would release on the Virtual Console service for Nintendo 3DS. Whether the same plans have been prepared for this year is unclear.

The Pokémon Company president and CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara has spoken about how he sees the game “as a chance to create Pokémon that goes deeper and with a higher level of expression,” whereas Game Freak co-founder Junichi Masuda has offered his thoughts on the brand’s future on the portable home console.
