The Fairy-type baby Pokémon Togepi was introduced in Generation II, quickly became a fan-favourite and now makes a return appearance in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. You will be able to discover and catch one in a handful of areas in the Hisui region, but as you set out to complete the region’s first-ever Pokédex you will want to know how to evolve the Spiked Ball Pokémon into Togetic and then Togekiss.

If this helps you, we also have guides on how to evolve Murkrow into Honchkrow and how to evolve Dusclops into Dusknoir.

Where To Catch Togepi

Before you will need to know how to evolve Togepi into Togetic, you may want to know where to catch it in the wild. It’s worth mentioning straight away that the Spiked Ball Pokémon will not appear after nightfall, so make sure that you rest at a base camp to pass the time so that it is morning, midday or evening if needed.

The areas that you will want to start hunting for Togepi are at Cottonsedge Prairie in Crimson Mirelands or at Bathers’ Lagoon or Tranquility Cove in Cobalt Coastlands. There is also the chance that a Togepi Mass Outbreak event, as we have encountered, where you will be able to catch around 10 of the pocket monsters at once.

How To Evolve Togepi Into Togetic

Togepi will evolve into Togetic when it levels up with high friendship. However, even though this is a recurring gameplay mechanic in the Pokémon series, your friendship level can be built slightly differently in this game.

In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you can raise your friendship level with Togepi by, as with any other pocket monster in the game, using the Spike Ball Pokémon to break an ore deposit or gather berries from a tree, as well as when it levels up or wins a battle.

How To Evolve Togetic Into Togekiss

Once you have evolved Togepi into Togetic and you have completed any research tasks that you want to concentrate on, you will then want to evolve it into Togekiss.

You will need to use a Shiny Stone to evolve Togetic into Togekiss. These can be found as a rare item drop in Space-Time Distortions or, for those with less patience, can be purchased by exchanging Merit Points (MP) with Simona at her Item Exchange stall on Floaro Main Street in Jubilife Village.

The Shiny Stone will cost you 1,200 MP, and is described as “a peculiar stone that can make certain species of Pokémon evolve. It shines with a dazzling light.”

Where To Catch Togekiss

If you aren’t necessarily bothered about evolving Togetic and simply want to add Togekiss’ page to your Pokédex, it’s worth us pointing out that you can actually catch the Jubilee Pokémon in the wild, too. The pocket monster’s spawn location is listed in the Pokédex as Lake Verity in Obsidian Fieldlands, and it will appear at any time of day.

Head to that location and you will see it flying around in the sky. The easiest way for you to catch it from a distance will be by using a Feather Ball, Wing Ball or Jet Ball, depending on what you’re carrying in your inventory.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is now available exclusively at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
