The Ghost-type Pokémon Misdreavus was introduced in Generation II and make a return appearance in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. You will be able to discover and catch one in a handful of areas in the Hisui region, but as you set out to complete the region’s first-ever Pokédex you will want to know how to evolve the Screech Pokémon into Mismagius.

If this helps you, we also have guides on how to evolve Murkrow into Honchkrow, how to evolve Togepi into Togetic and Togekiss and how to evolve Dusclops into Dusknoir.

Where To Catch Misdreavus

Before you will need to know how to evolve Misdreavus into Mismagius, you may want to know where to catch Misdreavus in the wild. It’s worth mentioning straight away that the Screech Pokémon will fittingly only appear after Nightfall, so make sure that you rest at a base camp to pass the time “until nightfall” if you need to.

The areas that you will want to start hunting for Misdreavus are at Celestica Ruins, Sacred Plaza or Stonetooth Rows in Coronet Highlands or at Bonechill Wastes in Alabaster Icelands. There are evidently more spawn locations in Coronet Highlands and there’s another reason to choose it, but more on that later.

How To Evolve Misdreavus Into Mismagius

You will need to use a Dusk Stone to evolve Misdreavus into Mismagius. These can be found as a rare item drop in Space-Time Distortions or, for those with less patience, can be purchased by exchanging Merit Points (MP) with Simona at her stall on Floaro Main Street in Jubilife Village.

The Dusk Stone will cost you 1,200 MP, and is described as “a peculiar stone that can make certain species of Pokémon evolve. It holds shadows as dark as can be.”

Where To Catch Mismagius

If you aren’t necessarily bothered about evolving Misdreavus and simply want to add Mismagius’ page to your Pokédex, it’s worth us pointing out that you can actually catch the Magical Pokémon in the wild, too. The pocket monster’s spawn location is listed in the Pokédex as Stonetooth Rows in Coronet Highlands, and, once again, it will only appear after nightfall.

Head to that location and you will see it flying around in the sky. The easiest way for you to catch it from a distance will be by using a Feather Ball, Wing Ball or Jet Ball, depending on what you’re carrying in your inventory.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is now available exclusively at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
