With the weather continuing to improve outdoors Pokémon GO will soon add “cooperative social gameplay experiences,” as the location-based game continues to evolve over time.

That news came as developer Niantic thanked the 65 million players that continue to explore the world around them in their hunt for Pokémon each month, after they won the Best Mobile and Handheld Game at the British Academy of Film, Television and Arts Game Awards.

This is the latest award that they have received, with others being awarded at BBC Radio 1’s Teen Awards, Golden Joystick Awards, The Game Awards and The Game Developers Choice Awards, to name but a few.

“We continue to be inspired by the passion of the 65+ million people from around the world playing Pokémon GO each month,” Niantic shared.

“We’re still at the beginning of the journey and there’s a lot more to come. With spring arriving in the northern hemisphere, players can look forward to all-new cooperative social gameplay experiences in Pokémon GO that will give Trainers new and exciting reasons to get back into the sunshine.”
