Pokémon GO Player Nearly Hit By Driver Playing Pokémon GO

It was a headline too good to miss, but another story that shows that you must stay aware of your surroundings when playing Pokémon GO.

CBC has shared a police report that a woman playing Niantic’s augmented reality app at a parking lot in Innisfill, Ontario was nearly hit by a driver that was also playing mobile phenomenon.

The woman called to report the near crash at around 2am EDT on Tuesday 26th July, and, as police officers were interviewing her, the driver returned and admitted playing Pokémon GO while driving their car.

The driver couldn’t be charged as a collision hadn’t occurred, but police once again urge that players be careful when exploring.
