Pokémon GO Invitational Revealed For The 2019 Pokémon World Championships

The Pokémon Company International has revealed that the first Pokémon GO Invitational will take place at the 2019 Pokémon World Championships next month.

This special competition will happen on Friday 16th August after the opening ceremony and will use Trainer Battles, the competitive battling feature in the location-based mobile game.

You will be able to catch the action in this officially streamed Pokémon GO Trainer Battle event live on Twitch and YouTube.

To celebrate this new event, The Pokémon Company International will select one fan in the United States to compete in the tournament.

Those registered as a spectator before 5pm PDT on Wednesday 31st July can enter the Pokémon GO Invitational Sweepstakes, from which a randomly selected winner will have the chance to showcase their Trainer Battle skills on the main stage at the Pokémon World Championships.

The 2019 Pokémon World Championships will take place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC from Friday 16th – Sunday 18th August.
