Niantic has announced that the Pokémon GO Halloween event will start this week, seeing the world become haunted with spooky Pokémon.

That will see Gastly, Drowzee, Cubone, and other Pokémon appear more often, as well as Sableye, Banette, and other Ghost-type Pokémon that were first seen in the Hoenn region.

The developer also adds that the rest of the Pokémon that were discovered in the Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire will “gradually arrive” from as early as December.

The Halloween event will run between Friday 20th October – Thursday 2nd November, and will also see players encounter a special Pikachu that’s celebrating Halloween with a witch’s hat, with their avatar having the chance to wear Mimikyu’s Disguise Hat.

Players will earn extra Candy with their Buddy Pokémon, with rewards doubled from catching, hatching, and transferring Pokémon, and their Buddy Pokémon finding Candy twice as fast. The in-game Shop will also have new special boxes with items such as Raid Passes and Super Incubators.
