The Pokémon GO holiday event has started, and, to help you get into the festive spirit, Niantic has added Special, Great, and Ultra Boxes.

The Special Box (250 Pokécoins) contains 10 Great Balls and 2 Egg Incubators, while the Great Box (550 Pokécoins) will reward players with 20 Great Balls, 2 Incense, and 4 Egg Incubators.

It is the Ultra Box (1,500 Pokécoins) that comes packed with the most gifts, with 25 Incense, 6 Egg Incubators, and 20 Ultra Balls. 25 Incense alone are usually 1,250 Pokécoins, meaning that you are only paying another 250 Pokécoins for the rest – slightly more than a single Incubator.

Remember that between Sunday 25th December – Tuesday 3rd January 2017, the first PokéStop that you visit each day to reward you with one single-use Incubator. There is also a greater chance of finding Eggs that hatch Togepi, Pichu, and other Johto region Pokémon at PokéStops, and the Holiday Pikachu will also pop up.

After this, from Friday 30th December 2016 – Sunday 8th January 2017 there will be an increased chance to encounter Kanto region starter Pokémon and their evolutions – Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, Squirtle, Wartortle, and Blastoise.

  1. last time incense did not bring me even a single pokemon, it is totally useless. Now pay for 25 useless thingies + 6 incubators with Jynx? No way!

  2. LoL, totally useless junk! Incenses are useless with pokemons now populated everywhere! Great balls and ultra balls don’t worth anything, just get them in the pokestop. The only thing that worth some value is the incubators… But I haven’t been able to hatch anything useful for the last few months, I sure not going to spend a penny on them!!
