This week’s UK software sales chart is in, revealing that Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl have claimed the top two positions.
GamesIndustry.biz reports that the games are not only “comfortably the biggest [Nintendo] Switch game launches of the year,” but that their combined sales have seen them become “the second biggest boxed game launch of the year.” The adventures across the Sinnoh region are behind FIFA 22, but their sales have surpassed Call of Duty: Vanguard.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond secured the top spot with Pokémon Shining Pearl in second place, whereas the Double Pack entered the chart in ninth place.
When compared against other mainline games on Nintendo Switch, their launch sales were 26 percent lower than Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield but 13 percent higher than Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee!.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl are now available exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
