How to unlock Mystery Gift in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl
There’s no need to worry about missing your opportunity to unlock the Mystery Gift feature, as it will happy through natural story progression. The Pokémon Company International has stated that it “takes approximately two hours of play time” before it is unlocked, which is accurate.
However, you may be able to unlock it earlier than this if you are particularly eager to do so. After defeating Gym Leader Roark at the Oreburgh City Gym and receiving the Coal Badge, make your way back to Jubilife City. Head north towards Floaroma Town and you will see Professor Rowan and his assistant Dawn (or Lucas), who will need your help to defeat two Team Galactic Grunts in a Double Battle.
Once they have scarpered away, at this point in the game you will be able to enter the Jubilife TV building in Jubilife City. Dash up to the building’s third floor and in the southern room you will find a TV producer who thinks that he “can swing a deal so you’ll be able to get a Mystery Gift.”
Choose “EVERYONE HAPPY WI-FI CONNECTION” in response to his question, and you will have unlocked Mystery Gift earlier than normal!
How to use Mystery Gift in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl
To claim a Mystery Gift in-game, you can follow these steps:
- Launch your Pokémon Brilliant Diamond or Pokémon Shining Pearl game.
- Press the X Button.
- Select Mystery Gift.
- Select Get via Internet or Get with Code/Password as required.
- Select the Mystery Gift you want to receive or enter your Code/Password.
- Watch as your Mystery Gift arrives!
- Remember to Save your game!
