Nintendo has announced plans to introduce the Nintendo 2DS to the Japanese market, set to launch at retailers on February 27th.

That will be spurred by the celebrations surrounding Pokémon’s 20th anniversary, with Pokémon Red, Green, Blue and Yellow to be bundled with separate transparent 2DS models coloured as their respective iteration.

Anyone that purchases any Virtual Console release until 31st March 2017 will receive a serial code that can be redeemed to receive Mew – whether that be in the bundle or through the Nintendo eShop.

The bundles will come with a 4GB SD Card, stickers, a town map, and a 3DS HOME Menu theme based around the Pokémon that appears on the game’s cover. Those interested in the Pokémon Blue Nintendo 2DS bundle should know that it will be exclusive to Pokémon Centers in Japan, with a special CD that has Pokémon cries available as an added bonus for those that pre-order.

The Nintendo 2DS saw release in Australia, Europe and North America in October 2013, and has sold more than 3.92 million units worldwide.
