Pokémon and Square Enix dominate Japanese software sales in June

The Japanese launch of Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 dominated software sales in June, as The Pokémon Company has been announced as being the top software revenue shareholder for the month.

Such statistics were compiled by Enterbrain and published within the latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu.

The Pokémon Company accounted for 34.5 per cent of software revenue between May 28th to June 24th, and is the first time the publisher has topped such chart since September 2010.

Square Enix have also seen similar success to come second, with strong sales of Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry’s Wonderland 3D, whereas Nintendo achieved a third position despite not releasing any new software during the month.

The full monthly software revenue chart is as follows:
1. Pokemon: 34.5%
2. Square Enix: 19.1%
3. Nintendo: 8.7%
4. Capcom: 7.3%
5. Atlus: 5.7%
6. Namco Bandai
7. Sony Computer Entertainment
8. Kadokawa Games
9. SEGA
10. Konami
