Pokémon Amie returns in Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire

If Mega Metagross and quirky Pikachu costumes weren’t enough to satisfy your thirst for Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire news, Japanese magazine CoroCoro has also revealed that Pokémon Amie will return.

First introduced in last year’s Pokémon X & Y, the feature allows players to bond with their Pokémon by giving them treats and petting them by using the 3DS touch screen. Treating them well, or badly if you preferred, saw their behaviour respond to how players were choosing to react to them. Far from being superficial, playing with your Pokémon built their trust and allowed them to become friendlier toward you – the notable rewards of which being that they perform better in battle by avoiding attacks, landing critical hits or recovering from status effects by themselves.

Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire will release in North America on November 21st, and Europe on November 28th.
