Three new Nintendo 2DS Special Edition bundles will soon boost Pokémon’s 20th anniversary plans.

Nintendo of Europe has signalled that they will trigger their own nostalgic overdrive by releasing the same 2DS bundles that are to shortly be introduced to the Japanese market.

These include a 2DS system in transparent red, blue or yellow pre-installed with Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue or Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition, which each match their system’s colour.

Housed in classic packaging reminiscent of the original Game Boy games, owners will also be treated to a sheet of 15 stickers and a download code to redeem on the Nintendo eShop to receive a special HOME Menu theme.

These will release at retail across Europe on Saturday 27th February, which will coincide with the Game Boy titles being relaunched on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console service – marking 20 years since they first saw release in Japan.
